We had a very nice lunch (risotto, wine and dessert), which is located between trees and gives a great atmosphere!

If you visit just 1 winery- choose this one
Jul 2020 • Family
I’ve done few research and decided to visit this winery. We booked Classic Tour which was 2.5 hours (€35 per adults and €20 per child) . It was really a great mixture as the castle , where the family still lives, is stunning. This winery is the oldest in Chianti and dates back to 1141! The family has a very interesting history and some members played many important roles including being Prime Ministers twice.

We also visited old wine cellar in the castle and modern production facility with the bottling plant .

During the tasting we tried 3 different types: 2 were Chianti and 1 Merlot. If you’ve been on the tour you will also have 10% discount in the shop. They also sell some whites and rose which was a favourite of mine! Absolutely delicious and fresh- would highly recommend it. The trattoria opposite the shops serves great lunches and coffee. We had a mixed plate of ham and cheese afterwards.

Highlight of our honeymoon
Nov 2019
My wife and I spent 12 days in Italy during November 2019 for our honeymoon, and we both agreed that visiting Barone Ricasoli was the highlight of the entire trip. We booked the Grand Cru Tour and couldn't have been happier. Our guide Nora was extremely knowledgeable and passionate. We got a great history lesson about the property and family as well as the wine. The tour of the castle was amazing with some of the best views we've ever experienced and it was so interesting to hear the family history. The private tasting was such a special experience and made us feel like VIPs. And the lunch at the osteria was the perfect ending to a perfect day.

Sunset Tour was Amazing!
Aug 2019
I went here with some of my girlfriends and we had a sunset tour of the castle followed by wine tasting from their vineyards paired with delicious foods. They started us off with rose paired with a flan/cream cheese appetizer with of course freshly baked bread. Our next course was pasta with veal paired with their famous Chianti Classico. We then had rooster with almost like a caesar dressing. And for dessert we had tiramisu with a dessert wine. You can’t be picky at something like this because it’s all chef’s menu and they don’t post the menus. You know what you’re getting when you sit down. Everything was amazing and delicious. I'd recommend going!

Castles and Vineyards!
Jun 2019 • Family
Take a walk back into history as you stroll through the castle and estate of Baron Ricasoli. Beautifully maintained with a good road access this castle has guided tours that are very popular and need to be booked in advance. The tour shows you the castle as well as the winery post which have a gorgeous wine tasting.

Brolio castle is a true Tuscany treasure! Views of gentle hills, velvety valleys and thick woodlands of chestnut and oaks! The wine is the best in the region! Have a wine paired tasting menu at the restaurant! It’s fantastic!

Wonderfully interesting history; take the tour!
Sep 2018 • Couples
We took, and recommend, the Sunset tour. It includes a very interesting and in depth historical tour of the castle and family history. I had no idea how much histroy was involved with the family. Tour lasts about 1 hour and very worth it. It includes dinner, which was ok. It's a set menu, 4 courses and 3 wine pairings. The wines are fantastic.
The food offerings didn't really live up. It would have been nice to have more say in what you ate but it was still a very nice evening and I'm glad we went. I think I
would recommend doing one of their other tours and getting dinner on your own at the restaurant. Some of the other dishes looked amazing.

We took the classic tour and opted to have lunch. The castle is beautiful and the view of Siena I’m the distance is breathtaking. The food at the restaurant was to die for. Their Chianti Classico was delicious. It was worth the drive from San Gimignano for sure.

We loved the wine tasting. The Brolio Bettino Chianti Classico DOCG 2015 was great. Good balance of tannins with great taste. Beautiful views of vineyards, castle, chapel, art and a great tour of the armory.

We were unable to secure a tour on short notice, but spent a couple of hours on the grounds and on the castle - couldn't go inside. Very interesting building, and you look up the history it's amazing. They have a restaurant down the hill that we ate at, which was great, especially after walking around. I'd suggest you try to get a tour.
