Smaller than we expected but an absolute gem. We have been totally impressed by the excellent maintenance of these beautiful little gems of Norwegian heritage. Unmissable on a tour of Norway!

No right to enter the visitor centre to buy a drink or refresh if you dont pay for the entrance to the church. The guy on the counter just refused 48 customers hoping to buy drinks and souvenirs.

This a unique restored architectural wooden structure. One of the oldest stave church in Norway. The structure was covered with black tar to preserve the building over the hundreds of years. Cemetery on the grounds along with ancillary structures which show how work is done...More
