It was really neat being in a place of such incredible history, both Geek and Roman and having the natural beauty to admire as well. Still working on the site which has several layers and is a bit hard to discern at times. Very well...More

From start to finish the experience of walking through history in our favourite part of Catalonia made for an exceptional day out. A backdrop of the snow covered Pyrenees and a glistening blue Mediterranean sea put us in doubt as to why the Greeks and...More

Thank you very much for your visit and for your review! As of now we have excavated only 20% of the city so you can expect to see new mosaics in the coming years!

The Greek and Roman ruins at Empuries are well worth a visit. The site comprises a mostly-excavated Greek part, and a Roman part of which only about 20% have been excavated, including the forum and the bathhouse. It's an expansive site and we spent a...More

Spent over 3 hours at Empúries - what an amazing site spanning extensive Greek and Roman towns. The curators have done a superb job of both the excavations and the interpretive presentations to provide an experience such that you don’t have to be an historian...More

Fantastic spot. Wonderfully presented with audio guides and clever partial reconstruction. Unforgettable. (And free that day, don’t know why but lucky us)

Beautiful location and interesting ruins. This was an ancient Greek and then Roman settlement on the Catalan coast. Great place to visit to walk around the ruins and visit the small exhibition centre.

Chose to visit here as my son is studying Ancient History at University. Despite being a chilly December day there were quite a few people around, including a School group. The ruins are split into the somewhat higgledy-piggledy Greek area and the very rectilinear Roman...More

The area of Greek ruins is rather large. The area of Roman ruins is much smaller. Very interesting but nothing really remarkable. There is also a movie to explain the significance of the place. Entrance was 5 euro per person.

The ruins are highly recommended to gain a deeper understanding of the area's ancient history and millennia of civilisation. Any weather will do.

There is a beach there but we didn't use it. If you have a car there are plenty if beaches in the area. 😊
