The plaza is not square and is on a slope. So quite different from the classic Spanish plaza mayors in larger towns and cities. The covered arcade is present though to give shade. We were there early evening and some fascinating shops were still open....More

This is actually round and is still used for bull fighting during some months. This is a lovely place with donkey rides in the middle of it as it is sandy. It is known for its garlic and mushrooms which can be purchased in the...More

We went yesterday and it was a medieval fair in the town. The square very nice with lot of great bars and restaurants. I should be back and without the fair just to see it empty.

Fabulous square with numerous restaurants, bars and cafes serving the local delicious tapas and pastries. It was the famous bullring where many events take place. Beautiful balconies all round where you can sit and eat whilst people watching.

We were lucky to visit the day after a bullfighting weekend. The stands were still in place and the centre of the square was covered in sand. Apart from the cars parked the square would have looked very much the same 200 years ago; a...More

The square is surrounded by well kept nancient buildings and tapas bars and restaurants. It is the location of a famous annual religious celebration. Chinchon is only an hours drive from Madrid. Well worth a visit.

We wanted to see the hanging balconies here - most guide books highlighted them. However, we were very disappointed. The center of the square was all dirt and just full of cars. There were a number of restaurants along the plaza, but their prices were...More
