We did not eat here but just came to tour the house. Very strange. It's a nice old house but just a random eclectic collection of stuff from different time periods. Then you have the current owner's personal collection off eyeglasses and cameras which is...More

We visited this house as part of a larger island tour. It also contains a restaurant on-site, which will be reviewed separately. The house itself is an exhibit of early colonial life. Throughout its many rooms and basement are displays of home wares, photographs, and...More

This is a museum, and as such, is packed with furniture and some stories. You don't get to see the plantation environment as such. Inside the house, there are interesting objets, not always placed in the room where they were at the time of the...More

We stopped here as part of a coast to coast tour (RCR) & learnt about the house's 300 year old history. It has been lovingly restored & features many old artefacts including furniture, cameras & early opticians equipment. There are also carriages in the basement,...More

Visited here recently on a tour of Barbados and was mightily impressed. Our guide was very professional and after her explanations we were allowed to wander freely through the property to take in the details. The history of the house was of great interest, and...More

Firstly the good points. Entrance fee is only Bd $20 - cheap for Barbados and you get your own little leaflet rather than one of those laminated A4 sheets that you hand in at the end. You are able to look round all of the...More

Hi Miranda, I've no idea what you expected to see on your visit to the plantation house? Your review is beyond measure and is actually an insult to the history of the house. The house is a treasure trove of information and artefacts that you can actually see and be part of. Unlike any museum in the UK where you are only allowed to see history from behind a roped off barrier. It's is not a mish mash as you have said. Maybe you should come back and see this house again.
