My sister & I had a fantastic glassblowing experience today. Setsuko & her husband Yutaka were so friendly and professional. We were made to feel safe & looked after throughout the entire 'mind blowing' session! We would highly recommend this experience & look forward to showing off our gorgeous glassworks.

DH would have loved to have gone to one of their craft workshops but timing didn't work. Lovely original glassware but too pricey for us.

We were given a voucher by our son for a combined glass lesson. We procrastinated about booking, but bit the bullet and did the deed. When we arrived we were greeted by the wonderful proprietors and the instruction started immediately. Trying to understand the procedures was a bit overwhelming, but it all dropped into place when we started to actually... More

Very roomy cottage, with the owners lovely artwork. Received a delightful starter hamper with muesli, milk, fruit and a wonderful freshly baked loaf of bread, some butter and jams, together with some yummy handmade (on the premises by the owner). The kitchen is well equipped, best is the coffee machine. Bed was very comfortable, generous wardrobe space and spotless well... More

We recently stayed in the Ogishi Artist cottage with our adult family. From my first enquiry Setsuko was very helpful and always replied promptly to my emails. When we checked in we were given a delightful breakfast hamper which included warm freshly baked bread, home made granola and chocolates, milk and fruit. The cottage was very spacious, comfortable, private and... More

We have been past Ogishi may times before. We stopped in one afternoon with our two kids 5 & 3. We were the only patrons there & the kids were well behaved. However, before we could even get the slide door fully open the gentleman behind the counter announced "keep control of the children, any breakages will have to be... More

Sorry for people with young children. We have many glass items fragile and we especially my husband get very nervous with children, because of our past experience. We need to learn English to ask more politely parents to look after children. So people would not get a negative feeling. Thank you for your comment. More

Lovely couple running this place - highly recommend the glass blowing lesson if you can book it. We had a great time getting a hands on, but well guided try at it. Glass blowing is otherwise something very difficult to get to try. Left with two beautiful glass bowls to boot!

After all the wine and food and more wine, you feel tired, lazy, and bored. What's next? Well, this is the stop you can do. I did not do the class here, only for a visit. Have to say, the final products were truly beautiful, with lots of details and skills, and lots of colors, I suspect even kids would... More

The most beautiful glass work, fine detail, predominantly blown on site, and exquisite. We were not looking to purchase but did buy the loveliest tear shape display piece with great colours and stone work embedded within the glass itself, very pleased with ourselves. Can also undertake lessons on site to learn rudiments of Glass Blowing, bonus is a lovely Japanese couple to take... More
