I went on a cool crisp October morning before the sun broke. I had the mountain all to myself, I recommend if you do this make sure you have a good headlamp. Trail is well beaten and if you are brave enough you can venture onto some of the side trails to the cliff lines, I do not recommend doing... More

Keep your children close! There are very steep areas, the view is amazing , keep in mind the mud if you go when wet.

Amazing hike and views. Trails were well defined and easy to navigate. Highly recommend visiting Whiteside Mountain. The resort Old Edwards Inn had a guided excursion to the trail and it was so nice having a tour guide to tell us about the history of the area while enjoying the amazing views.

Took my wife and I maybe 1.5 hours to hike? It's a big loop, so we decided to hike the other direction once we finished just to get a little more exercise. Pretty reasonable hike for all ages. Took a sandwich for lunch and found a rock outcrop to eat lunch on. Pretty busy trail but enjoyed talking with passerby's.

Great hike, stay to the left to start..it's an easier upward hike that way. Good vista views and lots of different scenery. Keep children under close watch.

A wonderful hike and great views at the top. The hike is probably a "moderate" hike, with the first half being the most strenuous. We did the "more difficult" route to the top, climbing up the steps on the ascent, rather than taking the old rail road up. We were glad we did because it made the descent so much... More

The trail leading up to the top is easy, a quick hike, and well maintained, but the top part is not recommended for those afraid of heights. The views sure are pretty though.

Easy and accessible hiking trails, lots of places to sit down and have a hiker's lunch or snack. Beautiful vistas.

There is a nice, 2 mile trail up to the top accross and down, so it does require some effort going up. Once up, the view is great. The path then goes for perhaps a half a mile along the cliffs. Cable fences are there to keep you from falling off where the drop is as much as 700 feet.... More

This is a must-do hike when visiting Highlands. It is a moderate hike with a few steep spots on the way back down. Take the wide, old logging road up to the first vista. The trail narrows as it continues up to an elevation of just under 5,000 ft. There are numerous look-outs with amazing views of surrounding mountains and... More
