I do not hike up mountains so this review is a guide made up from what my friends tell me. First of all do not hike alone, do not show valuables on your body such as cameras and phones as their are people who live on our mountains. If you must hike up any mountain in this region wear the... More

There are several easy walks on Fish Hoek mountain, particularly to Elsies Peak which has views across False Bay, from Muizenberg across to Simon's Town. None of the walks are difficult and even unfit people can reach the top - if the know where to start - on the marked paths in less than an hour. Get away from the... More

Beautiful view over fish hoek and surrounding areas. Be prepared to get cuddled by salamanders who think they own the place . Easy to walk up. 40 min from the centre of fish hoek I'd say....if you don't get lost and take the wrong stairs up.

Lovely walks and amazing views of False Bay and beyond. This review suggests that one never walks alone but in groups. This is for safety reasons. Another suggestion is to wear layers of clothes and take some backup apparel and water. The chances are that you may meet other hikers. There are some excellent books available which will give suggestions... More

We had passed through on our way elsewhere, but stopped coming back for something to eat and decided to take an after lunch stroll around the hillside. It was quite windy while we were there, but this didn't change the lovely setting and great views we all took in.

Definitely worth the visit. View from the top is amazing. Not a difficult walk. It is relaxing and you can unwind while taking in the breathtaking view of the ocean from the top of Elsie's peak.

Fish Hoek is a less known gem for hikers and holiday makers , yet it is easily accessible and provides wonderful views. We did a circuit ( with coffee breaks ) which started at Clovelly Wetlands , a bird sanctuary of some 60-75 minute stroll. Several species were seen . We then cut across the beach ( one mile long... A must if you are in Fish Hoek area .. wonderful and not too difficult walk to Elsie's Peak. The 360 degree views at the top are stunning. Best to walk in groups of 4+, if not let someone know you are walking ... exchange mobile numbers and bring emergency services numbers with you ... don't forget to put on... More

My daughter and I did the walk with our guide ( who was born in Fish Hoek) and at his suggestion we stopped the car and walked up the hill and down again! We loved the three hour trek and met a few other"climbers" that morning! Quite an experience!
