About
Bora Bora by Sunset was finally launched on June 3 2011 after much work and sweat from staffs of the defunk Sunset Bistro which was burnt to ashes late January 2011 ....its a reincarnation of sunset bistro reborn with a new twist. created by Yusri with a rather similar ambiance of a beach and free life....the staffs are the same and so does everything familiar with what sunset bistro used to offer...its more refine with a bigger bar and a cool shady shack even the heaviest monsoon rain couldn't even drop on you....situated by the beach and extended down to the edge of the water complimented with shaddy umbrellas and a big platform overseeing the sunset and the water of enchanting Ferringhi...Bora Bora which means water..and water it is best is what we offer to quench your thirst from noon till midnight daily even on holidays even meaning to sacrifice our rest just to honour and serve all our clients to the best..kitchen is new and spacious to cater for whatever craving you guys need to fill up the empty stomach with care and taste of a wonderful bistro exotic.

Great setting in Batu but menu outside is different to one given at the table

Staff very pushy on selling beer buckets and what food we ate was cafe style and lacked any presentation but was tasty & good

Spring Rolls , Kapitans Chicken Curry and Prawn Noodle Sizzler was good to share

My only gripe is the toilets are absolutely awful and smell awful and seriously need a good clean with bleach and sanitizer especially since Covid these would be a priority for diners to be wholesome and perfect for guests

Food including drinks for 2 was €30.00

They do a good job to upsell the prawns and crab. We had fish curry 2 different crabs seafood clay pot, omelette, fried rice. Prawns. Wasn’t cheap as Malaysia can be.

I prefer smaller hawker style places like long beach just down the road.

I order ice Latte & my friend order hot cappuccino, and, we received instant 3in1 coffee!! the price was RM11.00+++ each and they serve instant 3in1 Latte & Cappuccino!! There's so much different between real latte and instant 3in1 latte! Do you think people who drink coffee won't know the different??
Very, very, very disappointed!!

I guess we just pay for the beach Cafe bar ambience

Great place for some sunset drinks right on the beach. We also had some food here, the TomYam soup was really delicious. The rendang was ok only. The bar was busy and fun in the evening too- a good spot for the evening

Nice place on the beach for watching the sea and sun go down. Drink prices as you would expect to pay for a beach bar. Setting and environment is very nice and service was good when we were there. Only problem is the food is over priced for the quality (by a long way) - The Mee Goreng was one of the worst in Malaysia I have ever had and I have lived here for 10+ years. Also note that Batu Ferringhi in general has rubbish and overpriced food so keep your expectation low and you wont be disappointed

What a hidden gem. We ate here several times and would have returned just to sit and have a drink. Try to get a table on the beachfront (which isn't always easy). It totally puts you in the tropical mood. There is quite a lot of variety on the menu and it isn't expensive. Very fast service too. nice having the music playing. Would imagine this would be even better with live music

We always visit this place when visiting Penang. Great food, beautiful views, friendly staff and very chilled atmosphere. Probably the best place in Batu Ferringhi to eat. Highly recommended.

Depending on the way you enter (either from the street or the beach) try to get a table on the beach. It was a lovely spot to have a cocktail and enjoy the sunset at the beach.

It doesn't have lots of coloured fluro flashing lights, just a couple of blue and green ones to light the surrounds and simple floating candles on the tables. The staff were attentive and no pushy which gave it a relaxed atmosphere. We had a Mojito and a couple of Margaritas. The Mojito was amazing, so much fresh mint! Described as mint sauce with white rum!

The first Margarita was amazing, however our second round of Margaritas where a little sweeter than normal, almost like a syrup was used it them. Still a great spot!

One thing to note is that there is so many places on Penang that are avoiding single use plastics - it would be amazing to see this place not use plastics straws or sizzle sticks. 🐢🐋🐬🐠
