I've travelled extensively and can say this is the best beach in the world in my opinion! No bars/facilities just nature and lots of drift wood to build your own den and bring your surf board and cans of beers to enjoy the sunset with.

Love Playa Santa Teresa and its neighboring beaches. Best In Central America! Peaceful and full of life giving energy!

Perfect for sunsets the calm water between the rocks create a beautiful mirror. Many people snorkel here in the calm pools created during low tide.

We spent 4/5 days surfing there. When the tide is coming in it can get a little rough, low tide is the best time to go.

Found the surf challenging for our group but we had a great time. October is slow season so that was good to have the beach all to ourselves. We hear it can get pretty crowded in peak season and they are not very friendly to...More

We swam in this Black Sea, it's was just the right temperature. It was black because of the sand on this beach. It almost looks volcanic. Afterwards we walked to the end to the rocks looking at the sea - walk left. Near the end...More

Always bring water, it is hot. You can only get around by 4x4 and quads or ATVs are best. There are places in town that rent if your accommodations does not. The food is excellent! Everything is farm to table no matter where... More

Playa Hermosa is a short distance (3-4 miles north of Santa Teresa) off of the main road. Look for a small sign on the left that says "Colors" sort of faded. Take that left on rough road to ocean and Playa Hermosa (about 1/2... More
