Villa Carlotta welcomes you with its magnificent botanic garden and art masterpieces in over 70.000 square metres of gardens and museum. The beautiful villa was built at the end of XVII century by the Milanese marquis Giorgio Clerici in a natural basin between lake and mountains, facing the dolomite Grignas and the peninsula of Bellagio.

I had hear about the spectacular gardens and was not disappointed. Easily could have spent half a day just exploring the gardens. Truly an amazing collection of horticulture from around the world. I was pleasantly surprised at the Villa itself as well which is open...More

Such a stunning sight from your ferry when this villa comes into view - it has its own pier for the ferries. The gardens are very enjoyable and a gentle stroll can take up to an hour. There is a café for snacks at the...More

We visited in October which is certainly not the best time for the gardens but still worth the visit. The front facade was gorgeous and really made you envy the people who once had the privilege of living in a magnificent home with gorgeous access...More

I stayed at the Grand Tremezzo and as I was waiting for my room, they gave me a complimentary pass to visit. I am so glad, because since I was so short on time, I probably would have missed this and believe me, it should...More

A beautiful villa & glorious gardens too. The villa is now a museum, and has many interesting items in the art collection. Allow at least 3 hrs for your visit.

The imposing villa has a grand interior but is sparsely, not so grandly furnished. Definitely worth the visit though, for the amazing vista onto Lake Como, as well as the extensive, beautifully landscaped gardens and forest. Absolutely wonderful to explore and get slightly lost in...More

Another place to show your National Trust card for a discount. Beautiful gardens of spender, something for everyone. Don't forget to visit the cafe in the Greenhouse.

We are always skeptical of visiting old residences turned museum attractions because inevitably, there are rooms if not floors where you do not get to visit. It's sort of a half experience. Not so, at Villa Carlotta. First, the ferry is an easy jaunt to...More

We visited four of the villas cum gardens along Lake Como. This was the best of an outstanding lot. The garden is really more of an arboretum with trees imported from all over the world. There are flower gardens throughout. The villa is interesting architecturally...More

No parking onsite, only on the road. Watch out for restrictions. Depending on where you are coming from, an alternative is to leave your car somewhere else, and catch the ferry. Whatever you choose to do, Villa Carlotta is... More

I don't recall the cost but it's reasonable. We have also been there in October and it is worth the visit.
