My wife and I managed to book a tasting in Il Palazzone in a short notice. We had no idea how lucky we were! Esther and Laura met us at this beautiful winery with a gorgeous view of Tuscany. Really gorgeous, in a good day you can see all the way to Siena! They were super friendly, greeted us warmly... More

Il Palazzone is just on the outskirts of Montalcino. I had a reservation and Laura, the wineries manager greeted us (5) warmly and gave the most informative tour starting at the edge of one of the wineries vineyards. We tasted three wines: Rosso Del Palazzone (a blend of vintages) and Brunello a 2009 and a 2010. All were very excellent,... More

My wife and I enjoyed a special tour of Il Palazzone winery and tasting room in October. The tour guide was very cordial and made every effort to ensure we had a great time. We really enjoyed the wine tasting of the Brunello de Montalcino.

We drove to the winery without a reservation but the vineyard manager, Laura, greeted us and we were able to have the tour and wine tasting. NOTE: Laura advised that Italian wineries don't often staff their tasting rooms full time, and rarely have English speaking guides unless you make a reservation! We were able to taste two years production of... More

We ordered an evening tour of the vineyard inclusive of a sunset tasting of two vintages on their wonderful terrace for EUR 20. This was a very nice experience

We were in for only a few days and wrote an email to Laura in hopes of being able to do a winery tour on such short notice.. Her response was very quick and she gladly welcomed us. Our tour guide was Ester and we were delighted with our tour. I learned more about wines in this tour than in... More

My husband and I met with Laura while traveling through Italy on our honeymoon in May. Laura gave us a great tour and history of the land. We tasted a few Brunellos which were excellent. I'm sure we will be contacting Laura in the future to ship more Brunello back to the US. I would highly recommend going here for... More

Thank you, thank you, thank you Esther! While the drive to get to Il Palazzone might be bumpy, a little steep and give you the feeling you took a wrong turn, continue on because it is a nice getaway from the larger wineries in town. Esther really took the time to give us the fantastic history of the region, share... More

Esther gave a well-informed introduction to Brunello wines and the history of the Montalcino wine region. We arranged the wine tasting ahead of our visit (recommended; specifically if you visit on a weekend) and its recommended that you give yourself plenty of time to arrive a bit early as many of the wineyards are a bit hidden and not always...
