Really interesting

There is a very good exhibition here and video. One of the curators had a wealth of knowledge. Worth a visit.

We visited Dungarven Castle but was quite dissapointed. Only because it was quite small but that can't be helped. It was quite interesting to hear the history behind it.

Not much too see, but worth a look if you are in the local area. It's in a lovely place, when I visited it looked like they were doing work on the building so may be more to look at in the future. It's free to enter

Enjoyed a lovely time in dungarvan castle, the staff that we met (Mary and Tom) were so welcoming, friendly and helpful that it made the visit all the better. It's free to enter, You get to see a brief eight minute video that shares its fascinating history before you go on your merry way and look around this beautiful little... More

This is an excellent historical site. There is a great film explaining the history of the castle. They have an interesting display of what life would have been like living in the barracks.

Dungarvan Castle is a nice little stop off on a ramble around Dungarvan. There is a lovely walk along the river and you can stop off here at the castle, have a read of the history, a look around and all for free. The visit will take about half an hour and was interesting to read and see how the... More

I loved visiting this attraction. Staff were great and enjoyedthe video show.It was sad that the English were so different in the past with their relationship to Ireland.

Its only a small castle but worth a visit. An added bonus was it free to go in.The staff were very helpful and there is a guided walk . Also you can sit and listen to an audio recording detailing the history of the castle.

It won't keep you busy for more than 30 minutes but if you're in Dungarvan, it's worth a pop in. We picked up an Office of Public Works brochure in our hotel and honestly, it made Dungarvan Castle seem like the most worthless place you could visit but it's actually pretty interesting and a nice place to ramble around.
