We booked our 2 hour trip with Golden Frog thanks to previous reviews and were not disappointed. Our guide spoke very good English and supplied us with drinks and commentary throughout. The Skipper was great at spotting and pointing out various birds. Would highly recommend...More

The small town at the old Bridge is quiet but very picturesque. This would be such a good Base for hiking, boating & bird watching. There are several restaurants & rooms. The boatmen offer 1hour to 1 day but not a hard sell. A peaceful...More

This lake is beautiful, the scenery amazing and the mountains surrounding it makes it completely stunning. We were hoping to se some pelicans, unfortunately they didn't show up, but the lake is worth the trip anyway. An untouched piece of nature..

We were persuaded by a boat owner, who was obviously a friend of our taxi driver,to take a 2 hour ride at a reasonable price. As soon as we started off, realised it was going to be chilly as the boat's roof kept most of the sun off.Only...More

An utterly incredible place - one of Europe's most beautiful areas - with spectacular views and biodiversity but not for much longer. Like many natural wonders in the Balkans, planned unsustainable development within the National Park will lead to it's destruction. Go now before it's...More

It might have been better in the summer but for us we paid 20 Euro each for a 1 hour and 5 minute boat ride in a slow boat. It was a 20'skif with a 8HP motor. We were supposed to have a guide that...More

This National Park will be a good choice for those who love history and ecological tours. The beauty of the lake will touch even those who rarely go for open air trips. Tranquility and piece -- all you feel when the boat is moving on...More

We did a trip to lake Skadar while in Montenegro. What a picturesque place, very beautiful. Plenty of birds if this is what you like to see. The tour we took was with globtour Montenegro. I have to say they were very good accommodating us...More

The trip to Skadar lake was a highlight of ours and one which was slightly unexpected. We drove to the small village of Virpazar and on arrival was shown to a free car park and then asked if we would like a lake trip, slightly...More

Hi! Your story about Skadar lake is very impressive! Would like to ask your opinion... What do you think, is it possible to spend about 3 weeks near the lake Skadar ? I'm going alone with my 8-year-old daughter, without a car. Generally we like to spend a month's holidays on the lakes, for example, in Lithuania or Slovenia, swimming, walking in the woods. Provided that a lake is picturesque and clean and there are routes for walking, it's worth it. So I want to know more precisely on Skadar Lake, whether one can swim in it, or it is swamped? Is there a forest where you can walk. Some children attractions? And in whole, would it be possible get acquainted with Montenegro without having a car? Would appreciate your answer.

Hi, we plan to visit the Lake with my two boys 7 and 9 in August. After the Kotor Bay for a few days, we decide to visit the lake. Now I can't decide if we should stay there overnight or just make it a day trip from Petrovac or Bar(going to stay there for a few days and haven't decided which town yet either). Also, is it necessary to hire a tour guide or join the tour if we need to explore the lake? If we can explore by ourselves, where is the best place to find a boat company? Just read some forums, and some people got ripped off by some boat company by the lake. Don't really want that experience to be repeated. Thank you for all your reply!!
