A great place to visit in Rochester. The castle is very well maintained. The info boards really give an insight into life in medieval times. The view from the top is stunning and the gardens are beautiful.

The history of this castle is amazing - king John developed the idea of ‘under mining’ here , which is why one corner is a different shape to the others .... Don’t expect lots of interactive displays and lots of excitement, just think of how...More

We visited on a cold day but still enjoyed the day. The castle is small and we went round within an hour but the views from the top are amazing. Would recommend if you are in the area as doesn't cost that much either

This visit was worth while. Built around the time of William the Conquerer in 1099. The gardens are beautiful and free to wander around. There is a cost to get into the castle which is a ruin on good condition. There are around of 200...More

Hello, it isn't far at all. The train station is in a road that runs parallel to the High Street. Simply cross that road and you will be in the heart of Rochester.
