Wildlife conservation as it should be done!

Loved this place. Rooms were adequate. Food not as good as I hoped, but staff were very friendly and prepared what they could to please us. Walking back to our room one day, which is a 6 minute walk from the compound, I came across an Elan which I expected to run off, but to my surprise it came up... More

This is the second time we went camping at Harnas. Both times were for one night just before Christmas. The camp sites are clean and spacious, each with its own shower and basin. There is a communal shower and toilet as well. Very clean. You get the first large bag of fire wood for free. The best of camping here... More

Its a very nice place to interact with animals and treat them nice. You can go for morning and afternoon feeding tour. You can prepare the food for the animals and go for a bushwalk.

Did their first official Web site, and visited there to take pics and get a feel for the place. Founder has since passed away, but now run by his daughter and her husband. Their commitment to conservation and taking care of injured animals is admirable beyond words. Great place to stay as a visitor, and they accept foreign students on... More

To visit 1 or 2 days it is ok but not longer. In the last time to many visitors stay there. The Animals looks to fat and bored. It is more a sanctuary then a place for helping Animals to go back to the Wildlife. In further times Harnas was a place to help and to return the Animals back... More

We had two lodges for one night. The accommodation was excellent, the bar staff so friendly and the tour guide for our morning feeding trip was brilliant. Only a few little hiccups over administration and empty coffee pots at breakfast prevent it being a five star experience. The tame lone kudu and bat eared fox in the garden, and the... More

I worked as a volunteer for 4 weeks in 2013 and 3 weeks in 2014. Recommend to go there by yourself, not with friends (make the desicions for yourself). Positive: the posibility to play, chill, feed and sleep with wild animals! Amazing life-changing experiences you'll never get somewhere else. Negative: the animals get used to be with humans. That means... More

I was a guest for 3 nights at the end of my Namibia tour & absolutely LOVED it. The garden feels like a real life Narnia & to be able to interact so closely with so many species of animals was wonderful. My lodge accommodation was beautifully laid out, roomy, well equipped with lots of personal touches such as a... More

Had Harnas been more organised, less socially focused and made more efficient use of volunteers - my rating would have been AMAZING. I volunteered at Harnas for 3 weeks in sept/oct of this year. I tried very hard not to have any expectations, so as not to set myself up for disappointment. The animal interactions I had at Harnas were... More

A fabulous place to spend a day or longer... Kid friendly, animal interaction with the animals. Stroking cheetah up close and hearing about how the staff care for and rehabilitate animals was great. A bit of a journey on the gravel road so leave enough time to get there and back. Absolutely enjoyed every minute of this place and the... More
