This was one of the bigger wineries we visited in the area. The replies (when making an appointment) from this winery was speedy which was well appreciated. The whole bio-dynamic process was insightful and we even managed to view the bottling process! The tasting was good, we managed to taste 5 different wines. They also produce olive oil which is... We were staying at the villa owned by the Fontodi family and asked for a tasting at the winery. Very nice wines and excellent tour. The Chianti Classico, Syrah and Vin Santo were all excellent. The hospitality was fab.

We went here for wine tasting based on the reviews. The tasting was average at best, not a great deal of attention was paid to us and we were given limited information about the wines. It's ok but not as good as others in the area.

We were given a 'private' tour of this bio-dynamic winery....the visit was wonderful..we followed the gravity feed process through to the bottling a packing area with a tasting afterward. The family that owns the winery were manufacturers of terracotta (evidenced throughout) and are experimenting with distillation in large terracotta urns which we found fascinating...the wines themselves were very palatable and... In the heart of Chianti, in the valley of the town Panzano you'll find the Fontodi winery. Passion for the grapes and the ground they grow on can be felt throughout the whole estate, in fact Fontodi's respect for nature and environment certified the winery as a organic estate. A guided visit to the modern cellar and a tasting is... More

Great winery. Family owned and has a very broad range of quality wines. Located just 'down the road' from Panzano and in a lovely location. Magnificent wines ranging from Chanti Classico to Pinot Noir and some exquisite varietals

We had a hard time finding the winery and showed up 30 mins late. The gps took us elsewhere and we found it by luck. The staff mentioned it happens often so I'm not sure why they don't give directions when they confirm the tasting appointment. We enjoyed the tour and the wine does not disappoint. Sadly they don't ship... More

Friends had recommended visiting Fontodi Winery and glad that we did. A bit challenging to find but that's common for the wineries off of the Chiantigana roadway, just follow the little signs. The drive up was magnificent with rolling hillside views, fields, forests and sunflowers. Warmly welcomed and tour through the winery followed by a fine vertical tasting of Fontodi... More
