Good experience

This is a must visit place when you come to Papenburg, although it is nothing much to wow but it is definitely worth to pay a visit whilst we couldn't find in KL/Malaysia.

My family drove all the way to Papenburg, Germany to go through the Meyer Werft for a 2 hour tour. They were thoroughly disappointed. Most of the tour consisted of video footage and 75% of the presentation was in German

Definitely worth a visit when you are close. The tour starts from the centre of papenberg, and a coach will take you to the werft. An impressive sight. The most enjoyable part in my view (I'm an engineer at heart) is simply observing the massiveness of these ships and seeing them close. It was a bit disappointing that you can... More

From the 55,900 ton Saga NN to the 168,000 tone Quantum of the Seas, the Meyer Werft has built many of the seas well known Cruise ships for companies like P&O and Celebrity cruises. And, as our title suggests, the last cruise ship we embarked on was also built here – the 69,000 ton Oriana. Our guide for this tour... More

If you enjoy "Modern Marvels" on the Science Channel then you will love the time you spend touring Meyer Werft. This is where they make many of the giant cruise ships that people vacation on. The tour is worth the time and fascinating. The downside is that they don't have a regularly scheduled tour in English but it can be... More

If you book the reguar tour, the visitor center is a disappointing experience. There is also a pricey VIP-tour with more information, a closer look at the cruise ships inside of the shipyard. Anyway ... not worth the visit

I can only say one word 'WOW'. The tour of this massive shipyard describes an insight into the building of modern era shipyard and services. You can see building of the massive giant cruise ships here. A must visit if you are in Papenburg.

What a great subject: The wharf where the buil THE cruise ships of the world. How disappointing their visitor center: Totally missing the excitement of the subject: It is nicely designed, but really is missing the right story points. The guide touring you around is telling many interesting facts and stories, but none of this is showed in proper way... More

Definitely a place to go to if you can get some sort of tour. I was very impressed with watching the ship building process.

We toured this factory and really enjoyed it. I love behind the scenes type of attractions , and it was so fun to see where they make some of the world's biggest and best ships. My son was a Disney Castmember and liked the pride they took in building a Disney ship we had sailed on, too. The place was... More
