We visited September, when the weather was still uncharacteristically warm. There were still a large proportion of the roses still in bloom but maybe July or August would have been even better. The roses were just beautiful. It is a large area to walk, but there are seats to sit and admire the colours and perfumes. There is also a... More

Despite visiting in May we where amazed by the sheer size and scale of the rosarium including the variety of roses. A tasty light lunch set us up for a delightful stroll amidst the rose beds. Despite few roses being in flower we were really impressed with the overall lay out and will undoubtedly make a point to visit some... More

I would not rec. Making a detour to this " attraction" . We did not enjoy the soul- less way the roses were laid out but the first point of failure was the standard of food @ cafeteria ...the food was " institutional" ..I could not stand to eat anything but cold bread roll and butter as the smell was... If you're not a rose lover, maybe it's not for you. For me, I just wanted a pleasant way to spend a few hours in the sunshine, and this was perfect! There are plenty of benches to stop and rest and "smell the roses." Because even in mid September there is plenty of scent! There were plenty still blooming, though... More

It's a crime that this garden doesn't have more publicity outside of Germany. The published English travel guides give it only a short description, if they mention it at all. It deserves much more attention from them. It is well-known in Germany, however, and there were many German tourists visiting when I was there in mid-June. There were also quite... More

One of the largest rose gardens with a rare collection of roses, many thought to have been extinct. Allow plenty of time to see everything. End of June is best time to go.

The mecca for rose enthusiasts across the world. It covers a very large area so wear comfy shoes. Plenty spots to sit, relax or lie down to relax amongst the blooms or under the trees. There is a coffee shop with snacks, fabulous cakes and delicious ice cream and a large terrace with tables and chairs. There's also a gift shop... More

On my aniversary trip we went to the Harz and earea. one of the days, we've visited the Rosarium in Sangerhausen. one word: WOW, and the roses weren't blooming yet; in one word, most wonderfull exepriance to see, how beautifull everything there is, even without blooming flowering roses. We know for sure, next trip to there, we're going again, visiting... More
