We did this walk late one afternoon which was perfect as it would have been too hot earlier on. The walk times aren't as long as listed. We did the long loop going clockwise with the kids (11 yrs and 9 yrs) in 1hr 15 mins with lots of stops and breaks. Take a camera, water, sunscreen and a hat.... More

A short drive out to Bannockburn, past the wine yards, some not open for visitors yet and into the secluded carpark, safe to leave your vehicle here. A gentle stroll over the lower fields before a gentle climb up to the lower region of the sluice fields. You need to stop and look back to capture the spectacular views out over... More

This walk is amazing!! The landscape is outstanding and the views spectacular! It is an easy walk with a nice stop over at the old settlement, Stewart Town. Make sure you read the info boards along the way.

Pretty unique landscape with great vineyard views, yet a chance to appreciate the tough lives that the gold miners and early settlers endured.

I ran through here on Part of a marathon I did. I wasnt running fast it was at the end. It was an incredible juxtaposition to the mountain landscape behind it, right near the wineries! Real enjoyable run through here and the tracks are well sign posted. Id like to come back with my family and take more time to... More

Several different ways of walking up to Stewart town.. Lots of history to look at and in summer the apricots at Stewart town are awesome... mid level of fitness required

We had a walk here of a couple of hours. There are some great view higher up the track. Plenty of history too, if that is what you enjoy with information boards every so often. Great place to take children and dogs for a walk and then after, either head for a wine tasting or to The Kitchen for coffee... More

This was a good length of walk for a family. It was like being in a desert. There was lots to see and talk about with respect to the history of the area. Carry a waterbottle though! It is hot work. We went clockwise and enjoyed that direction.

An interesting walk up an uneven path, needing a little fitness as one climbs about 150 metres. It is a bit like a mini grand canyon in appearance. The circular walk takes you up to the ruins of Stewart town with information about the sluicing methods and life at the time. Many apricot and pear trees dripping with fruit -... More

We'd been here a few years ago & had fond memories so thought we'd give it another go & it was as impressive as we remembered it being. The scenery is like a cross between a canyon and moonscape & it's pretty dramatic. The hike to Stewart town is a loop and it's worth kicking around at the old buildings... More
