We visited the Japanese Peace Pagoda as part of a walk from Unawatuna to Jungle beach, we walked to the next beach over the rocks and came up behind the Pagoda , before walking back to Unawatuna. The Pagoda is such a beautiful, tranquil place...More

Beautiful pagoda which is really close to Jungle beach. It is built after the Tsunami. There are shops selling fruits and souvenirs inside the area.

It was quite a beautiful place and a nice walk, but it is very dangerous when it’s raining and barefoot! My boyfriend slipped and fell on the stairs, luckily when he was almost downstairs. Could have been much worse!

Hiked up to the Pagoda after a day at Jungle beach. Takes about 10- 15mins to do so. Great views over the ocean & you can also make out Galle Fort lighthouse. Very clean & well kept.

Great views when you get there and interesting hour. Very hot so take plenty of water and socks for vising the temple area. Some shade under the trees.

A must see if you are in the Galle area. This is a stunning tribute to the Tsunami victims and am sure is a comfort to the survivors. Stunning location and very peaceful even though it is visited by many worshippers and tourists.

Visited the Peace Pagoda at a bright and breezy 7:30am and my wife and I had the place to ourselves. It's a beautiful site and the small monastery next door is certainly worth a visit. Couple an early morning visit to the Peace Pagoda with...More

Gorgeous peace pagoda with amazing views. You can see the galle lighthouse from here. There was no one else there when we went, it was so peaceful (we went earlish in the morning). I’d recommend getting a tuktuk there as the hill is steep. It’s...More

We went to many temples in Sri Lanka and felt many of them were trying to rip you off. This one didn’t ask for an entrance fee and just a kind donation. The monks were very friendly and welcoming too. Awesome views of the Indian...More

Don't miss the Jungle beach though! It's a lovely hidden little beach with calm shallow water. On the way up/down there's a little restaurant that doesn't really look like much from the outside but we got some really ice... More
