Beautiful long sandy beach

A lovely beach, with plenty space and opportunities to do some Karting, wind surfing. Also an historical site being one of the landing beaches. Very nice for a stroll.

Bearing in mind the history of the D-Day landings, there are local attractions but to me it all seems a little too irrevelant today unfortunately. One cannot blame the local trades and visitors for enjoying the long beach and sea for what they see today.

We have visited before in the summer and this truly is a beautiful beach but we were very disappointed when we were there in the middle of September. The whole of Ouistreham stank! We discovered why when we tried to have a paddle in the sea. There was a 4 foot wide band of rotting seaweed stopping anyone from going... More

I would never normally give a beach 5 stars, as I hate the sea and I hate sand, but this is part fo Sword Beach, where the British 3rd Division landed on D-Day, and is an important site to see. Stand on the beach looking at the buildings, and imagine being attacked by the Germans. Stand near the bunkers or... More

As one of the "D" Day landing beaches (Sword beach) It is a sweeping and wide stretch of sand. You can feel the history

Lovely clean beach with path to walk on if you don't want to get sand in your shoes! Very close to car ferry so ideal for dog walking. Areas for snacks/drinks etc available.

Well this beach is like any other beach with sand -lots and lots of sand in fact it has an enormous beach. There were a lot of water sports going on mainly wind surfing and they seemed to practice on a land area close to the beach with wheels before venturing on to the sea.

Large wide beach, with beautiful blue water overlooking the English channel. The place is full of older wooden bath houses privately owned, gives it a ton of charm. houses close by are typical for the region, really beautiful. Parking- paid. We saw a ton of folks parking on the side streets for free. Try that before paying.
