Enjoyed a long walk along this beautiful sand and sea scape where its history overlays everything about it. Well worth a visit.

The beach is huge with plenty of space. The tide makes it not that good to swim from, but you can collect shells. Also the beach is very hard, not a nice sandy beach to just lie on.

So at first this beach, and as a pat of Sword Beach in the D Day landings could appear bleak. However, then you imagine the Aliies landing and charging up the beach under machine gun fire from the dunes and it brings it all into...More

The beach is huge, and has easy parking nearby. During the low tide, the sea is very very far. Clean and pleasant. After the dune level there are tables for picnicking.

Quiet Beach with a lot of parking availability, watch the parking-guards! The sand is fine and there is no trash in the Beach, very nice for young children.

Had a lovely walk along the beach, which was very clean from what we saw. There are plenty of amenities nearby as well as historic memorials etc.

Visited this D Day site on a sunny afternoon in March with only a few locals and visitors walking on the beach. Seeing the beautiful peaceful scene today it is hard to picture the horror which faced our troops arriving by landing craft in June...More

Bearing in mind the history of the D-Day landings, there are local attractions but to me it all seems a little too irrevelant today unfortunately. One cannot blame the local trades and visitors for enjoying the long beach and sea for what they see today.

A lovely beach, with plenty space and opportunities to do some Karting, wind surfing. Also an historical site being one of the landing beaches. Very nice for a stroll.

The ferry port is a few hundred meteres away from the beginning of the beach. Caen centre is a twenty minutes drive by car.
