Was on an excursion with a language school based in Freiburg, and we all went to this museum. It was a really cool immersive experience. First they have you go through this like 4D experience, then you can enter the open air museum, where you are free to roam. There weren't "guides" per say, rather people stationed at particular points... More

What a wonderful little gem to stop and see. I was on a bike trip around Lake Constance and stopped by this place based on a recommendation from a friend. How very interesting. Great for young and old alike.

A lot of research has gone in to this place and to preserve it. A lot of things to experience which takes us back in time. A must go for school kids too, as they see what and get to do stuffs in real. Its a must see in the bodensee region. A unique experience overall. Cons: For the non-Deutsch... More

A good reconstruction to show how people lived in ages past. Definitely worth a visit, especially with children, an instructional paradise.

A very good reconstruction of stone age & bronze age buildings. Recommend taking the tour and seeing the short movie. You might be able to skip this but we found it interesting especially the movie with the "special effects". There are lots of signs with explanations - German & English. There was one house with a young man doing a... More

It's a unique fisherman village reconstruction that I was truly not expecting to find. Very cool effect when the doors open to the outside area.

Nice recostrution of ancient preistoric village built on palafitte. At the beginnng there is a short guided introduction about history and archeologist discovery and then you can go around alone. The only negative thing is that the introduction is in only german, or better, nobody proposed us a tour on different language although they knew that we were foreign tourists.

Close to the lake, located in a nice park in the city of Untrruhldingen Interesting visit, well organized, and easy to find.all texts and explanations are available in German, English and French, but the translation are very poor and sometime odd. But it is still a must see in the area

You can pick up quite a detailed guide book for 4 Euros and many of the signs have an eng!ish translation but not all., parti ularly the more detailed bits. The museum had a good selection of artefacts and the site is much much bigger than it appears with hands on stuff for the kids in the dry land section... More
