We walked from our hotel on the way back to catch our ferry and decided to stop here, and I'm glad we did. Is a beautiful little Monastery on the hill overlooking the port.

Worth a visit, and the uphill hike,if you are in the Pythagorion area, very unusual and interesting church in the cave. Outside you can take in the amazing views across the island

The most "famous" monastery of the island. Well known, because the location of the ancient church is deeper, below the surface of the earth, cave like and intriguing, waiting to be discovered. The view from there is also breathtaking.

We hiked up to the monastery in time to watch the sun set behind the ridge. This is a beautiful setting. There is something very tranquil about this place.

The monastery is easily accessible from the town even by food . It is small but full with great history. From the yard you can take amazing photos
