We attended the La Penita Market held on Thursdays. It is located a few blocks from the beach in La Penita and stretches up and down the side streets from the main street. Vendors have tables and sell many varieties of foods, fresh vegetables and...More

La Penita is a Mexican "working town" -- meaning its economy is NOT tourism; and for that reason, it's a great tourist area. Next to it is Guayabitos the Mexican holiday beach with one of the best beaches in Mexico - much nicer than Sayulita,...More

We were forewarned by an artist in Sayulita to not make the trek as it was primarily household goods. We still did it and this was not with the $600 RT cab. If you need spare parts for your stove, electronics, clothes, DVD’s or shoes,...More

It has become our Thursday morning ritual to walk to La Penita for breakfast at El Pollito and then check out the market. There are a lot of venders and a variety of items for sale. It is always fun to haggle over the price...More

I was impressed with this market. There were a variety of items for sale, some that I have not seen for sale elsewhere. I did not encounter any high pressure sales. Enjoyed looking & buying at this large market.
