This eye-catching Glockenspiel clocktower re-enacts the Shakespeare story of Romeo and Juliet in the town named after that bard's birthplace in England. Worth a visit around the times it strikes.

Passing through Stratford and saw everyone looking at the clock. Was very surprised by the cute glockenspiel. Very well done for small town New Zealand

Easy to park in the main street nearby. A shame that the 'action' takes part overlooking the road, by a pedestrian crossing, so you need to stand on the opposite pavement to see and hear the movements whilst traffic hurtles by. This makes it difficult...More

Arrived in Stratford following a wet and windy journey. Parked the car close by and was entertained for a few minutes. Shame that the the voices could not be heard due to the traffic noise.

Worth timing your visit to hear the bells which sound as per attached photograph. Quaint old building with a Carillon that still plays.

We weren't expecting to find a glockenspiel here with a 5 minute 'performance' of Romeo and Juliet. Worth a look but difficult to hear the story because of the cars and trucks going by.

An enjoyable 5 minutes of Shakespeare! Hard to hear when trucks rumble past! Only plays at 10, 1, 3 and 7pm. Was worth a short stop on way round Mt Egmont, but not worth going out of your way for.

We went to great pains to head to Stratford to see this clock perform at a set time only to find that the clock hadn’t been changed for daylight saving so there was no performance. If this is one of the town’s pristine attractions surely...More

It's not a glockenspiel as advertised - but a poor recording of music and Shakespeare readings; I'm glad we happened to be passing 5 minutes before it was due to take place - I'd have been sorely disappointed if I had planned my day around...More
