Littered with lots of trash including a inlet for what seemed like sewage. Go for the temple, the beach in itself is forgettable

This beach very near to the city and is the crowded when compared to other beaches in Gokarna. We went there on a weekend evening. Lot of local people had come to enjoy the sunset. The best thing about this beach is its gradual depth and calm waters. Its easily safe and fun to bath for hours and have fun . The beach is surrounded by numerous restaurants and shacks where you can sip on your favorite drinks and munch on awesome starters. I loved it, This place definitely calls me back .

This beach is exactly behind Sri Mahabaladev(Shiva) temple. Approximately 500 mts walk from it. On the way one can find may local shops that are definite attractions. You can buy beach clothes, accessories in these shops at cheap price. NOTE: Don't settle with the price the shop keeper demands, always bargain high. Once you reach the beach, you might feel... Gokarna beach is just a place where you end up after walking along the main street through the town. Over the festival period there are many many beggars lining your way to the beach, with associated rubbish and debris. This would not be a place where you'd want to spend the day sunbathing or swimming. But for interesting people-watching and... More

This beach is too crowded when compared to its counterparts. Best to be avoided. It is too commercialised.

You must walk to the farthest end for some seclusion, else it is crowded and sometimes a town drains into it.
