Our next stop from Dumaguete, to Malatapay, is towards the east side of Negros Island, to Sipalay. We have been there many years ago but we like to come back again. The Sugar beach in Sipalay is really sugary brown,... very fine. Clean and also good for kids because it does not abruptly go deep. All clean sand at the... More

When you arrive to Sugar Beach by a small outrigger boat and see this broad, deserted beach, you know that this is a special place. Sugar Beach is first of all beauty, tranquility and relaxation. The broad beach is perfectly framed by the green palm trees, the sand is light grey and stretches smoothly like a soft carpet into the... More

We have been in the Sipalay area now for 9 days and have enjoyed some very fine diving with Scuba Planet on the pristine reefs of Dunjugan and Turtle Islands. Sugar Beach is a lovely out-of-the way spot where, yes, you will find some friendly dogs. They are fun and peaceful and no problem. Really, if you are a dog-hater... More

With my own trail bike, I rode several times over a treacherous, seldom used trail to access this area. The only other way to get there--the way everyone uses--is to take a ferry across the river. This costs 300 pesos per boat load, one-way. To go anywhere else, you take the ferry back across, and rent a tricycle into town... More

Good place to unwind and also to enjoy the clean and quite beach. One thing that is not so pleasing is the fact that lots of dogs rooming around the beach. This place is not so crowded yet so better visit now.

Beautiful serene beach, where you can enjoy beautiful sunsets and a quiet and peaceful time. Good snorkeling off shore and some lovely places to stay and eat. The perfect beach for a relaxing beach holiday.

We have a relative who lives in Sipalay City and whenever our cousins visit the Philippines, we take them here. This place is paradise for people looking for tranquility and relaxation. If you are a party person, then you wouldn't enjoy this place. The place is pretty much quiet and the beach is really awesome! The water is warm considering... More
