Beautiful castle estate ... so so tour.

This is a beautiful estate and palace to walk around and visit. The little Biergarten is nice. The tour is lacking if an English speaker, the guides don’t want to speak English and give you a used paper with descriptions in each room. The tour is way too hurried and there is not enough time to examine everything displayed. The castle was bombed in the war so questionable how much is genuine. No photography and wouldn’t bring young kids on the tour, you get mean looks of they squeak. The restaurant is good. Slow service and they were open until 6 on Sunday. If you call they say they can’t seat after 5. They didn’t serve the menu only specials of the day.

The Schloss is lovely and the gardens great to walk around , especially later in the day when it's a bit quieter

Downside , it's a bit too run like a business you don't get any of the charm of the place on the guided tour, it needs to be less this date that date and more who lived here and their story

The real downside was the market that was on , we paid 11 euro each to have the pleasure of looking at some posh craft fair that was way too expensive , glass of wine 5 euro we had been told we had to buy the ticket if we wanted to see inside the Schloss , we were then charged again to go round the Schloss !!!!!

I keep thinking about how well run chatsworth is and how disappointed with this Schloss we were

Nope don't bother

very cool palace, on outskirts of Fulda

Nice place to see. Not within walking distance of Fulda, but definitely worth a trip. It's right on the outskirts of town. We had a guided tour. Was very interesting. Enjoyed my time there. Would go again.

Took the no6 bus from Fulda. The house is 2.5km from the bus stop so wear good shoes...nice place not the National Trust but getting there. Still being renovated but I enjoyed it. The tour is only in German but they give you an English guide to read.

A beautiful house and location. Guided tours are available in english and our guide was very nice, although we found the information limited so you do need to ask questions. Be careful that you don't go on any event days as they do push the entrance price up by a large amount, doubled if not more. Car parking is available in a field at the side of the schloss but do avoid going if their as been heavy rain as the field gets very muddy and slippy both driving and underfoot.
