Quick visit

Lots of festivities going on outside, but it was nice to step inside and see the church. Beautifully decorated and tranquil.

There isn't much else to see in Acireale but the churches done in the beautiful Baroque manor. This is well worth it as is San Sebastian

Part of a guided tour of 3 baroque churches in Acireale a bit boring if you are not a art historian but the painting style is very active.

what a brilliant place for a wedding. Really stunning inside, although it was really hot inside the church.

A nice street with a very beautiful duomo!!!!! In the summer they have live music. Everybody must visit it and drink a cafe or a drink there.

Interesting cathedral with the sundial being the most interesting thing to find - the sun at midday will land on a line corresponding with the date.

Acireale is a busy town with its own rich baroque architecture. Piazza Duomo is no exception- well worth a visit.

I would skip Acireale. It is difficult to get to without a car -- bus schedule no one seems to know, train station a long hike outside town, and not a pleasant one at that. I actually loved the LIberty style frescoes in the adjoining cathedral. (It' s two building complex, duomo and cathedral.) Yes, the facade is interesting, but... More
