we had expected to find more about the history of the delta works. For us only the 2 movies about the 1953 storm and the construction of the delta works with the small exposition was interesting. The outside part of the park is more for kids taste, water slides, water games etcetera. the exposition of the whales looked a bit... More

After the catastrophe in 1953 which resulted serious lost of lands and lives, the intensive Delta Works started. It was quite interesting to be led inside to view the history and development of this project. Though the entrance fee to this site was expensive but still considered worthwhile to come and learn some background of the project in Netherlands.

How a record of the 1953 storm disaster and the story of the wonderful feat of engineering to to create the delta project to prevent a reoccurrence ends up inside a Water Park its impossible to say but it's destroying it. The cinematic effect showing the disaster is good and the visit to the cassions a must but the film... More

Planned after the catastrophe of 1953 which caused many deaths and lost of lands, the Delta Works were constructed by a series of huge tide gates in order to prevent an other tragedy . Entrance in one of them will give you an idea about the herculean work. The cruise with the ship is a waste of time and money

This was a very interesting place to see for me with an engineering background. The engineering feat here is amazing. However the entry price was 22 Euros + 7 for parking which is obscenely expensive for what you get for a speciality attraction. The inside of the interesting building from the outside basically has a restaurant, ticket place and toilets... More

We visited this wonderful example of Dutch engineering whilst on a River Cruise. First of all there is a short talk followed by a 15 minute film. The flood defences were built following the 1953 flood where over 1800 people perished. The guide that took us explained the way the flood defence worked and what caused the high water levels.... Impressive film (the Delta Experience) about the great flood disaster in 1953. The Deltawork Project is to prevent this happening again. There is a boat trip (€3 pp extra) on the Oosterschelde, birds of prey, sea lions, aquarium and playgrounds. Also films about whales and a film about the construction of the dam. Bit on the expensive side, book online... More

70 EUR entry for a family of four with little kids is simply abusive for what you get. pus 7 EUR for the parking. The park overall is somehow run down and especially the Deltawerke technical part underdeveloped, not as much to see as expected. The part for the kids has all kinds of attractions (seals, otary show, small aquarium,... More

The park is located next to an impressive sea barrier on the Dutch coast. It has several attractions inside besides the water slides and the sun bathing area, like the pool for the sea lion show, an aquarium and a large and very ingenious building for exploring the inside of a whale. There is also a little train doing the... More
