Blessed with a perfect Sunday evening' weather at the end of October this was idyllic . Dramatic , atmospheric and beautiful . Fabulous views . And they do a lot of interesting things here e.g a scary history eve for Halloween . Loved it .

Very well situated looking out over the North Sea at the mouth of the River Tyne, the views on the sunny day that we visited were grand. The staff were helpful, the display boards were interesting, and the buildings and grounds well worth a visit for a couple of hours.

I toured the castle and priory with my wife and grandson. We toured these ruins on a gray day in September. There is a gift shop where you buy your tickers, and then you are allowed to tour the ruins on your own. There are some explanatory placards in the ruins to give you some context. It is a beautiful... More

Beautiful coastal setting of the castle and priory and a lovely way to spend an afternoon. There's a fair bit to see whilst in tynemouth and this would be a thing not to be missed if you are in the area
