Human Connections offers a completely unique cultural experience. We bring our guests into the vibrant neighborhoods within Bucerias that travelers rarely get to see. There, we visit three different homes and engage with local artisans, tradespeople and food vendors. We spend about an hour with each person, learning the story behind their craft and seeing the "real Bucerias" through their eyes. While you will enjoy an outstanding homemade meal and history about the area, your favorite thing about the tour will surely be the people you meet. They are simply inspiring.

This is a tour about progress (not a tour about poverty) that aims to foster cultural exchange and promote local businesses, all the while providing our guests with an once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Three of us well-traveled adults found this to be a truly enjoyable, unique and worthwhile experience. If you are at all interested in cross cultural interactions, make time for this half-day excursion. You will be glad you did.

The tour was valuable to us because We was able to look into the lives of families who despite very difficult life experiences are working to maintain stable family lives and preserve their self dignity. We were able to support the organization and the families by purchasing, if we choose, items that the family has created for sale. We took... More

Delightful and humbling tour meeting local artisans and small business owners. We were able to learn a little bit about the struggles and strengths of 3 families as they work hard to support themselves and there families. Our tour guide, Maya, was wonderful and projected tremendous pride and compassion for the families and her culture. Highly recommend tour for all.

We went into the local Mexican artisans homes. They greeted us with warmth and pride. We saw first hand how they made their art. We heard from them through an interpreter how they came to Bucerias and started their trade. The people shared with us the stories of their families. We got to paint our own bowl if you wanted... This was by far our favorite experience in our three annual visits to Mexico. What a unique opportunity to see behind the scenes of Mexico's artist community and tourist scene. We came away feeling blessed to have been invited into the homes of some very dear families and learn more about their stories and their culture. It's truly an uplifting... More

This was the highlight of our trip! It was heartwarming to meet three families working their hearts out to get ahead. We love and respect the people in Mexico and want to support this organization moving forward. Thanks to all the staff! I will wear my t-shirt with pride and have and will tell others about your great work.

Great experience meeting artisans and being welcomed into their homes. I loved hearing their stories of how they decided upon their crafts and put their talents to work and why they sell where they do and how fortunate they allowed us to visit them. Maya our guide was a true delight and helped us understand each aspect of our encounter... More

This is like no other tour I have taken ever! Human Connections currently works with 12 or so artisans and during the tour you visit 3 of them at their places of business. The tour varies the artisans so you can go on it more than once and have a totally different experience. On my tour we saw firsthand how... More

I've had the priviledge of experiencing 2 Human Connection Tours and a Cooking Class in beautiful Bucerias. Each one offered a unique glimpse into the lives of very special and talented local artisans and cooks. We were warmly welcomed into each home and business and encouraged to engage and enjoy the people and experience. A truly enlightening, humbling and inspiring... More

Lovely Maya lead our group of 8 on a fascinating day tour-visiting 2 local artisans and a local restaurant for lunch. This was the second time our group has experienced a Human Connections tour. They were very accommodating and chose 2 different artisans/restaurant so we could have new experiences and hear new family stories. In addition, we were so excited... More
