Similar to Lake Tekapo you have a absolute stunning scenery here. The lake with the mountains in the background makes this place so special.

We drove along the entire length of this lake to and from the Mt Cook area and we found ourselves stopping numerous times to appreciate the views and beauty of the area. Many simply breathtaking vistas all over the place.

The visitor center is at the head of the lake with a large parking area and beach. Views are great of the lake and mountains. The visitor center has a small shop and some foods available.

Lake Pukaki is such a beautiful body of water. On a clear day it looks like it stretches on into infinity. It is well worth the visit to have your breath taken away by sheer beauty

We drove from Queenstown to Tasman Glacier Lookout (passing through Lake Pukaki). The Lake is extremely beautiful and gives good views of Mt Cook (Mt Aoraki) and some other snow covered peaks.
