The story of the dam building is interesting enough but the views, the 300 year old oak forests and the wildlife are so impressive; red kites, crossbills and just possibly a goshawk.

Lovely views and good walk. Visitors centre informative. Would have been useful to know up front that dam was under repair. Raining when we were there but imagine very beautiful in sunshine. Good signage.

Great place for walking and enjoying the great outdoors. Very few roads around this beautifull place so walking is the best way to enjoy the area.

Elan Valley had so many beautiful differing landscapes. Was amazed that we did this journey in just one day. A photographer's paradise. May I visit again soon.

yes turn left, there is a straight road which takes you to 2 of the dams, you have to cross over one dam to get to claerwen, the largest,it is signposted and worth the detour.
