A place to stretch your legs, peaceful, nature, either sunshine or windy still good. At low tide just be careful of the mud holes, worst place is dogs hill you will get stuck, there used to be a café and amusements at the east end needs an injection of money spent, but still a great place to visit, Dogs hill... Good area for a dog walk, not a sandy beach , pebbles but walkable. Unfortunately the cafe was not open when we visited but seemed to be under refurbishment.

Not a beach to sit on and relax But nice for a walk with the dog Invigorating sea breezes will blow away the cobwebs

Staying in Rye and took a trip to Winchelsea Beach. Glad we did. A very long beach hidden from the road by a defence wall. Plenty of places to stop and walk to the top of the wall and onto the beach. We had a sunny day and it was glorious and very peaceful just to sit and enjoy the... More

I was inspired by the local Winchelsea brochure and I wanted to see the sea. I was able to stop at a few places along the road. I was amazed at the construction of this wall to keep the sea out. Being Australian I am used to soft sand, however the rocks were also like what they have on some... More

Walk along under the nearby cliffs and see fossils and if lucky a dinosaur footprint or two. A long beach that has become popular but still plenty of room to remain fairly private. A pub at one end of the beach and a cafe at the other are handy. Ideal for swimming or sunbathing. David Bowie’s Ashes To Ashes was... More

On a nice day the walks or cycle paths to this beach are recommended. There are plenty of birds if you like to spot or watch them and it's not too far from the main town too. Lots of pebbles. If it's more sand you prefer... Cambersands is a 10 min drive away.

Had a great day down on the beach, although it's stoney when the tide goes out there is lots of sand and you can go out quite far in the shallows.
