Was excited initially but what a let down. The trip on the boat was so short & very expensive. We were only able to touched a small iceberg. Every other thing were viewed from far. Makes no difference for those who wish to omit this experience.

We met the tour bus at the Hermitage Hotel; the friendly GE driver checked us in and drove the group out to the trailhead, where we walked about 1.5 km over a rough gravel trail to the jetty on Lake Tasman. It is a bit of a walk up and down a rocky path, but not hard at all for... More

Came on a nice sunny day excellent weather Brett tour guide was very informative answered every question about the ice and the area. No chance to walk on glacier as a safety concern at the face. But good tour very interesting walk to the boats is fine only the last 200 meters is a little steep. If you do not... More

We travelled over Easter and we had an amazing day with the weather. Tom was our guide and he was awesome. Tom was very knowledgable and had a sense of humour and answered everyone's questions. We saw icebergs and the glacier and a clear view of Mount Cook. Highlight of our trip.

Without a doubt this tour was the highlight of our 3 weeks holiday through NZ. We got lucky with the weather (actually had to re-book), the scenery is amazing but what really made this trip unforgettable was the staff. Now, I don't normally remember names, but I actually made a note of these guys because nowhere else did the guides... More

We had done the Tasman Glacier View Hike the day before, and I will admit, looking down at the lake and seeing what looked like a few tiny icebergs was a bit crushing. Looks can be deceiving! Getting out on the water with the guide, it became clear quickly that those icebergs are massive! We learned so much about the... More

I would recommend this trip to anyone visiting the mount cook area. Despite having to do a short hike to get to the glacier it is still suitable for most people. The Glacier is beautiful and the boat trip is interesting and the drivers very knowledgable. It is great getting up close to and touching the icebergs floating around. I... More

The best way to see the Tasman glacier - in the little yellow speed boats. Pick up from the hotel, a 20 minute bus ride, a 20 minute walk and then into the boats... our guide was really knowledgeable and packed the trip full of useful insights. Plus it was good fun for the whole family (including 6 and 8... More

This isn't cheap - but really worth the money. The tour is really well managed and there is plenty content to make it a worthwhile trip. Our guide Pancho was among the great hosts who made this a thoroughly rewarding experience. Don't miss this tour as the glacier won't be around forever.

Went on the trip out to Tasman Glacier 2 weeks ago. If you have ever been to Alaska, you will find this trip around the lake and over to Tasman Glacier quite disappointing. Very few, small icebergs, size of the glacier is also rather modest next to the gigantic and majestic size of many glaciers that you can visit in... More
