Voted one of the Gold Coast's most popular tourist destinations, Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is the crown jewel of the National Trust of Australia (Queensland) [NTAQ] properties. As one of Queensland's earliest nature-based tourist destinations, the Sanctuary is a physical embodiment of everything the NTAQ represents: dedication to conserving our nation's Indigenous, natural and historic heritage and culture. With Blinky Bill now present for daily shows, the amazing viewing experiences available at the Wildlife Hospital and hundreds of native Australian animals on display in natural bushland and rainforest settings, Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is the ultimate holiday adventure for the entire family.

Fun family day out

Positives first.... The koalas are cute and there's plenty of them. You can take a selfie with a kangaroo (if that floats your boat and you can push your way through half of Asia). And there are some nice parrots. Oh, and the staff are very friendly. However, I found the whole place very poorly done and a bit sad.... More

Currumbin is a great family day out. It’s a big park so be prepared to do a lot of walking. Not so easy in the middle of summer – bring plenty of water as it gets very hot. Loved the misting fans dotted around the park to help cool you down. The little train that goes around parts of the... More

Although more of a 'zoo' than a sanctuary, this wildlife park is a must see whilst your in Oz. It has a real range of wildlife from dingos, kangaroo's, cassowarys, taz devils, koala babies, quokka. The ticket price was good value for money based on our four to five hours (not in a rush, stopped for lunch) however as with... More

One of the best things about this place is that is an active Sanctuary. Most of the staff are volunteers so your money goes straight to looking after the animals here and also the veterinary clinic who take in injured wildlife from around the Gold Coast. You definitely need to attend the bird show! There's a big Kangaroo enclosure where... More

Having never been to Currumbin, we decided to stop there on our way through to Brisbane. We're all so glad we did, although it was more expensive than we were expecting ($50 per adult, $35 for one child and the second child was free due to age). It would have been better to get there a little earlier as we... More

The Lorikeet feeding happens at... More

Had an amazing time at the sanctuary with my friends. So much to see and do, and it was so lovely to see how much the staff cared about the animals. The performing staff running the shows were all fantastic and very engaging alongside being extremely knowledgeable. The staff on the high ropes were all extremely helpful and reassuring and... What a perfect day. We showed up before the park opened so we could experience the lorikeet feeding. Definitely get there early or stay late so you can experience that. It is quite something to see hundreds of lorikeets swoop in from their day in the wild to enjoy some free food direct from your hands. Before I even knew... More

After years of saying we should visit, we finally did and were not disappointed. The animals seem well kept and the grounds are clean and well thought out. The wildlife hospital viewing windows offer the unique experience for patrons of watching whilst vets administer care to animals. We had our 3 daughters (7, 11 and 15) with us and they... More

This is a small zoo where you can see many Australian native animals. Staff is very friendly and prices are fair. The best is that you can get a pic with a koala. Totally recommended!
