If you are in Pondicherry take time out to wander round the park. It's not spectacular or particularly well maintained but it's cool and tranquil. A lady carrying both a bit of extra weight and a bag stopped us and approached - No we don't want to buy - No, no she said to my daughter, you must run with... More

There were plenty of benches to sit on and trees to give shade from the sun. Lots of people passed through the gardens and enjoyed them.

The park is beautifully scattered. With sand stone statues here and there which looks prehistoric. Local people does picnic here with their children. .

Central location, shady trees, surrounded by restaurants and street eats, near the beach, kids play area...what more do we need - and still free. Chill out here in the evenings after a beach walk.

I loved the beautifully carved free-standing Indian-style pillars around the French-style Aayi 'mandapam' (pavilion). At the centre is the mandapam; near the periphery of the park are the stone pillars -- and as you look out from here, you again see all the French-style buildings around you. The story behind the mandapam is also very interesting -- it's a tribute... More

Compared to other parks around the world, this one may look small, but it has a nice vibe. Spend some time here to get a taste of the riches life stores in its simplicity and its beauty.

Leafy and shady, this park is a pleasant place for a stroll and a rest in the shade on a hot day. However, like many places in India, parts could do with more maintenance eg cutting the grass in some areas, and, as usual, thoughtless or lazy people littering,,especially plastic bags and bottles. Although the litter is no where near... More

Its a huge park and have lot and lot to walk if you want to see the whole park. Nice place to sit and enjoy the shade during the sunny afternoons. Close by rock beach. Nothing extraordinary about the park.
