The best thing about this park is variety of bird species, clouded leopard, snow leopard,Red Panda. Though I found out some of the park is not properly maintained, but its properly organised. The best time to visit is as soon as park opens or late evening before it shuts. In the afternoon most of the animals are taking their nap so it would be... More

It's a unique zoo where animals have lots of space and visitors have to walk a bit more around to see them properly. That actually makes it a much more natural environment for everyone and gives you the chance to see how animals live. Even though they had lots of warnings about being quiet around the area, some visitors were... More

It is about 8 kms away from Gangtok. This zoo covers area of 205 hectares. This area is also known as Bulbulay. We can see red panda, snow leopard, sppoted deer, Bears etc. in a seminatural habitat and many more animals found on high altitudes.

Visit this place if you like animals. They live like in a real jungle. I was excited when the snow leopard came out. We had to wait around half an hour to see it. But was worth waiting. Lot of walking is required. For old people they allow vehicles. Others will need to walk. Total around 3-4kms.

Each animal has a hilly outdoor area of a good size. NOT perfect and still unpleasant for the animal, but every animal is a rare species and the wild cats in particular are impressive as are the pheasants. But my target was the red Panda. Saw one sleeping in a tree and got some good pics. Really good to see... More

Its a zoological park set in natural with enclosure much larger than you generally see in a zoo. Caging of animals is always debatable but this is still better. Red panda and Snow leopard were the highlights for us. Overall one od decent places to see in Gangtok.

it is a natural zoo in the hilly area, toddlers & kids will face problem to walk around the zoo. No such animals are there, only 3/4 deers, 2 red panda, yak, 2 leopards , & leopard cat. Such a waste of time...
