This beautiful park has rare animals like the red panda and the snow leopard, both of which we were fortunate to see! The tibetan wolf was a bit shy and wouldnt come out of his little enclosure :) Beautiful pathways and the unmistakable sweet fragrance of the woods with sweet birds chirping away. This is one place that shouldnt be... More

The Himalayan Zoological Park was unique in my experience for the wide variety of big cats on display along with other indigenous species. The Red Panda in particular is worth seeing and photographing. The relative closeness of the viewing location to some of the animals is an interesting feature. One thing to be aware of is that the entrance to... More

The zoo situated on the hilly terrain is worth to visit. All animals are kept in enclosures for clear view of the l public . The Bengal tiger is the star attraction. Another one is the state animal Red Ponda. A good place to visit.

If you love flora and fauna, this is the place for you. So, don't rush it - take your time. I am sure it's going be different from the others you've seen elsewhere. You have to walk from one enclosure to the other so you do need good legs. Don't miss the watch tower, the view is surreal. It is... More

This is a small zoo with not a whole lot of animals. We say, Snow wolf, Snow leopard, Clouded leopard, 2 cute red pandas and more. Worth a visit as it will only take 1-1.5 hours to traverse this place.

This zoo has got nothing special here. You will not see tigers and bears here. But you will definitely see red pandas and one or two animals more. Nothing exciting. You will feel like your money was wasted.

This is quite different from other. Rare species of animals were seen here. A lot of walking has to be done here. Mainly himalayan animals were seen. If you had no troubles with walking you should visit this place.

The park is situated on the route between Ganesh Tok and Bhagthang waterfalls, so if you are planning a trip, you can combine these 3 places + Hanuman Tok which is right behind the zoo. Attractions are the cat leopard, snow leopard, red panda, yak, goral, civets, and blue goat. Each enclosure is well maintained, captioned along with the distance... More

Zoo is really good as it has wide variety of animals. HMI and Museum is located within the zoo, so one can visit 3 places at 1 spot.
