The park was built at 1760 by prince bishop Adam Friedrich from Seinsheim. Here you will find a lot of fountains, more than 300 sandstone sculptures of the court sculptures Johann Wolfgang van der Auvera, Ferdinand Tietz and Johann Peter Wagner. Also there are numerous water games. This one of a few facilities in the french rococo style in Germany... More

The gardens are beautifully kept, with raked paths and trimmed hedges. The blooming flowers near the palace were spectacular. I was amazed at the size of the fish in the pond! Hundreds of statues accompany you at every alcove. Worth a visit if you are staying in Veitshochheim.

As a plantswoman and having a lack of enthusiasm for the baroque and rococo, I was not keen to visit these gardens, but i was overwhelmed. Around the palace, the formal borders were heavily planted with a wonderful selection of late summer annuals in a riot of colour - a sort of formalised Munich/prairie planting which worked fantastically well with... Alright, if you are in Würzburg and pressed for time, this is not your top-of-the-list destination, but if not and you are (auto-)mobile and have good weather, by all means, do take the short excursion to Veitshöchheim--or if you travel more leisurely, you can also stay overnight in this charmingly quaint smallest of towns. The gardens are a delight, what... More

If you're going to Veitshochsheim you must go to these gardens. They're beautiful and one can relax while walking and admiring, not only beautiful plants, but also sculptures and different animals. For children is great because they can run freely and safely, except when closer to the big lake. There you have to watch your kid. Other than that, one... More

This is one of my favorite places in Germany, it is one of the only gardens of its type in Europe and is a must see if you are passing through Würzburg. The Gardens are full of statues and nooks and crannies made out of plants, including long arcade walks in the shade. The small hunting palace here runs tours... More

If you happen to be able to be in the beautiful gardens - visit as often as you can. There happens everytime something you would not expect. Eighter you watch the birds and the bees or you stay there with your friend drinking some wine. You can recreate and you'll love the sculptures, flowers and garden architecture.

visited this place yesterday, and its a really magnificent example of of Rococo architecture....the garden is well sized and with interesting symbols embodied in human statues and more..... One disappointment is that the main fountain was dried up, probably due to the extreme cold weather..... nonetheless.....fantastic....really enjoyed walking through, and absorbing the whole atmosphere :)

The interiors are not as impressive as the other palaces, but Veitshochleim Palace is very close to Wurzburg and easy to get to by bus (20 minutes from Wurburg train stations stop) or train (6 minutes from Wurzburg Main station). The bus stop is right at the garden of the palace. Get off at Kirchplatz stop. I had the Bayern... More
