This is a great little ferry ride. The price is ridiculously low. The ferry runs frequently and is on time. I'm not sure what else would want from a service like this, but the fact that it is dependable and without negatives makes this a...More

The service was cheap and provided a convenient way to get from one side to the other in twenty minutes. No seating on this ferry and you stand amid the cars on the single deck. Not glamorous or that comfortable but an effective service.

So inexpensive and convenient to Butterworth train station. There's also a free shuttle bus from ferry terminal to train station.

When you visit the ferry for the first time you have to ask and no one guided you . Easily to ride free boat to butterworth but nothing to do there.

We caught this ferry from Butterworth. There was a bus shuttle taking us to the ferry terminal and we paid a small sum of RM$1.20 for a ticket across. There is only a charge one way, it is free to return. The ferry takes passengers...More

No trip to Penang Island and Georgetown would be complete without a ride on the Penang ferry. This inexpensive ferry is still a popular and integral part of the public transport network and is used by many people and vehicles to get across the causeway...More

It's a bit of a hassle to catch the ferry, but if you have time, and if the lines aren't long, and the weather is good and you like a nice sea breeze, it's a good option. There is a walking path (over a walking...More
