In order to enter, you must ring the doorbell which took me a second to find. A bit camoflouged and just above eye level, the door is unlocked when you ring. It is 8RM and inlcudes an audio tour. I completed the tour in just under an hour but got a bit bored of the audio tour so I didn't... More

I personally doesn't like much reading history in book type but I found that by visiting this museum with friend was far more better way to understand the history. My friend recommended us to visit this museum because you can personally see the antiques and the old building which has been restored. They also provide audio guides for you to... More

We stumbled upon this museum while walking about Georgetown and were so delighted by our experience. A beautiful building with many gorgeous family artifacts. This social history museum is a very fascinating look at Chinese history, explained through the lens of one very important man and his family which makes the information a lot easier to digest than other museums... A most comprehensive recording of penang s social history of Chinese immigration . Attached to the Sire restaurant, have a bite to eat or just a drink and your entrance is free.

The house has been restored perfection and is absolutely beautiful. The decoration, furniture and exhibits gives a sense of understanding of how life was back then. The effort put into the research and presentation of the information telling the story of Chinese migrants coming into Penang was amazing. Our guide was very attentive and very informative.

The entry ticket is rather costly.Unless you dine at the Sire Museum Restaurant, you have to purchase a ticket to go into the House of Yeap Chor Ee who was an early century entrepreneur in Penang. His personal collection is very interesting. Also ,it gives an insight into the arrival of the Chinese immigrants who first arrived in Malaya to earn... More

Penang is not so much about its beaches. Its these little gems that make it special. Knowing that this enterprising man lived in this house creates a real link with his world. worth allocating half a morning...reward yourself with coffee and croissant after the tour!

Small, bright and airy gallery in the old part of Penang designated a historic city of the Straits of Melaka. It brings back vague childhood stories told by the old ladies at home, except the exhibits are factual and put together in a way that tells a bigger story. A story of the early chinese settlers and the heritage they... More
