Nicely laid out place, not huge, good info (in Eng) about turtles and how they are helping to protect them, lots of people there when I visited but didn't feel too crowded. Located right at the bottom of the main street -good way to spend an hour and a bit.

Learning about the Tamar project and their years-long effort to help protect marine life in the region is fantastic. This is my fifth visit, and this time with children, who marvel at the turtles, fish and even nurse sharks in the park. I feel however that the animals in the complex are somewhat 'abandoned', and could be better cared for.... More

It's interesting. It's bigger and better than some of the reviews here imply, and some of the signage is now in English. And they have some really good information on how they work with communities and sustainable development not just eco... But some of the pools for the turtles are very small...! And they have tons of space so I... More

I have been in several sea turtle sanctuaries and this one is more focus on the educational part than others and they do a great job to ensure the safety of the hatching. The keep some turtles in pools and I don't like that if it is permanent, they should be at sea

My family loved this place ! It is a project that saves sea animals like sea turtles, sharks, and different types of fish. They have a display with all kinds of these type of animals including giant turtles. Incredible ! Don´t miss it if you go to Bahia. It is located about one hour from the airport of Salvador.

The area has several displays and tanks with fish and turtles. The cost of entry is low and it supports a good cause. Great for kids.

This is an awesome opportunity to learn more about turtles, all different types of turtles. Tamar runs tours a couple of times per day, so it's pretty easy to find a tour to see. The restaurant inside Tamar is not cheap, but it has a delicious fried fish.
