- Escape To Find PeaceUnited Arab Emirates681 contributionsWhat you need to know while travelling to Genting Highlands!Hello everyone.. The well-known Malaysian tourist attractions Langkawi SkyCab and Langkawi SkyBridge are located in Oriental Village. From oriental village, Kuah Jetty is about 45 minutes away by car, while Langkawi International Airport is only 20 minutes away. Oriental village is open every day from 9:30 am to 6:00 pm and is free to access. There are 2 entrances, we have entered through B! In the Oriental Village, there is a 3D museum and the SkyDome. The ride on the SkyCab Cable Car up to Gunung Mat Cincang, Langkawi's second-highest peak, is undoubtedly the highlight. Note : Langkawi Skycab Cable Car will have a yearly closure from 17th July until 20 August (other attractions will still be opened as normal). Please expect a long queue during holiday season, you are advised to reach the attraction earlier to redeem your tickets. The availability of Skybridge is subject to change depending on weather conditions (it might be closed for a short period of time). To get the bus to Genting Highlands, we started early and reached the KL central metro station and went downstairs to book tickets and board the bus. The Awana Skyway is open from 7 am to 11 pm. Avoid scheduling your visit if you don't have a full day to spare; this location should be visited in the morning to explore everything in here. We boarded the bus from the KL central metro station and they dropped us at Genting Awana Bus Terminal. Either reserve your seat in advance or arrive early at the ticket counter. Because of the long line, we were forced to wait almost two hours. Buses were full even though we arrived early, and the next bus arrived only after 45 minutes. Because there is so much to see here, we plan to stay an entire day! While purchasing the tickets, make sure you book the return ticket as well. It will be a complete rip-off to take a taxi from here. There are good AC buses available, and they are reasonably priced. The bus ride lasts longer than two hours. If you plan to visit Langkawi but decided without taking the cable car, give this a shot! When comparing the two charges, the cost here is only a tenth of what a skycab in Langkawi costs. But in Langkawi, the view was priceless, and here, you travel while taking in the cityscape. There was a stop at chin Swee station during your cable car journey. However, we couldn't visit as there was some renovation going on. If you get a chance to visit, do not skip it.Visited September 2022Travelled as a coupleWritten 2 April 2023
- Mary SIndia66 contributionsHelpful staffWe took the Genting Skyway on the last week of December . We were a group of 8 , four senior citizens, one of them in a wheelchair and two kids .The staff were helpful and stopped the cable cars and helped with the wheelchair. The views are spectacular and climate is cool . The only flip side is the long queue to reach the cable car. The weekends are pretty crowded .We went on a Friday , unfortunately it was a holiday as well . I recommend paying for the express entry especially if you have small kids . The glass gondola is not wheelchair assessableVisited December 2019Written 12 January 2020

Amazing views, great skyway / cable car. Ride is probably about 15 mins, goes quite quickly. Stunning scenery, felt well run and safe. A highlight of the trip.

Highly recommend this excellent ride up to Genting Highlands. Although we had a chauffeured car and could have driven up to Genting directly, our family of 6 decided to take the Genting Cable car from Gohtong station. It was half price for Malaysians over 60 of age. It’s quite easy to buy a ticket there. We were there on a weekday and whilst there was a queue, it moved pretty fast. There is a complimentary stop at a temple if you want to visit. As you approach Genting Highlands, you can practically see the various theme parks, hotels and parking areas. I especially like the green hill views at the start to before approaching Genting.

Took a return ride. The view of Malaysian forest was beautiful during sunny day. We could experience fog and windy weather when return. A wonderful experience with little one :) If you have small children, please give it a try! (The awana sky way was closed, so we chose genting sky way).

One can spend half a day or 2 days at Genting - excellent lush greenery, cable car, malls, food courts, 2 theme parks and many resorts to stay in, at the hill top. If you are travelling back the same day, remember to get RETURN tickets, during the onward journey itself, as there are limited buses and seats and one may not be able to get back, otherwise.

Hello, I've only been to this location once. According to my personal experience, if you want to see everything and take part in every one of the activities, you shouldn't bring a stroller (it will be dangerous to try to jump in with it on the skycab). Instead, tote him or have a baby carrier. There will be a lot of strolling, including stair walking. Each viewpoint requires a short climb and drop of steps because it is slightly elevated above the regular viewing platform.
Hi
I would like to check if there's transportation available from Glamz@Genting to Skyworld hotel?
And what is the fastest or easiest way to reach the hotel?
Thank you

Food and drinks are expensive and exorbitantly overpriced up in Genting, except perhaps Texas Chicken, McDonald's and other chain stores. Definitely bring your own drinks and dried snacks from elsewhere before going to Genting.

I think you can buy the tickets earlier , or may be through online. Genting skyway always very crowded especially holiday seasons, and cause you travel in a big group. if you guys haven't got a transportation to Genting , you can buy the bus tickets online as well together with the skyway tickets

What is the difference between the 2 cable cars from Goh Tong Jaya & the one from Awana Skyway.?
If I buy the ticket online for Awana Skyway can I change to start my journey from Goh Tong Jaya Cable car station?

Awana Skyway is the new cable car system. The old cable car system only operates when Awana Skyway is under service.
is there any grab service from genting sempah to genting n back? is there any grab service around genting?

U need to take the cable car to Genting premium outlet then from there u can take a grab anywhere. It would be easier.
