This is where the monks are buried. It is really peaceful and lovely. A far walk from the entrance. We had a guide so she made sure we didn't miss this.

This is part of the Shaolin complex so I'm not sure it deserves a separate review, bit for the fact that you might miss it. The Pagoda Forest of Shaolin Temple is within the Shaolin Temple. The compound is the burial place for the key Shaolin Temple monks over the years. There is much to see except for the various different pagodas to commerate the monks.

What an interesting place. Unfortunately raining and this made some of the paths up behind the forest slippery. Manage with care. The stories and extensive history fascinating. Either read up or use a tour guide for information.

A peaceful area but if you have no local guide, you may not fully understand the historical background behind each pagoda.

A tall forest of respect. More interesting than it looks because of the size and interplay of towers and shadows

This is a cemetery with ancient steles and it is a great place for a peaceful stroll through history of the KungFu tradition.
