Great wild swimming spot
Aug 2019 • Family
Walk up from the restaurant Puente Dobra on the N625 south of Cangas de Onis. Pass the medieval bridge and continue to the beautiful pool (Olla de San Vicente).

It’s a popular swimming spot, but worth the walk and braving the freezing water temperatures, especially to jump into the smaller pool under the waterfall.

Caution - the path is uneven, so although the walk is not long (45mins each way) it’s not suitable for those unsteady on their feet - nor those in flip-flops!

There is limited parking but we found a space further down the road which had an easy walk back to the restaurant.

NB the map location is wrong at time of writing, but hopefully this will get sorted. See directions above if you’re trying to find it.

Beautiful relaxing walk
May 2018 • Couples
We walked a long the river to the pool with our dogs, beautiful scenery, the water is emerald color !
We were warned by locals on the way that there are snakes so wear boots and keep your dog on a leash as we indeed met several snakes on the way !
Easy relaxing day (5 km there and back to the car)

Nice walk by the river
Aug 2017 • Couples
Perfect plan for a hot day. The walk beside the river is quite nice with some places where you can stop and have a snack close to the river. The area is well maintaned and the walk takes about 45 to 60 minutes one way, ending on a natural pool of water where you can enjoy a bath on its fresh water. The walk starts where the restaurant is located, left border of the river. You may need to use boots since there are some rocky areas along the way.

Superbe scenery, green waterholes, easy hike of 1h up to the final circular swimming pond. Across the river is a mirrador up on the ridge, accessible via the road to Vis.

Swimming hole!
Jul 2017 • Family
We hiked to the Olla de San Vicente swimming hole along the crystal blue/green Rio Dobra. Freezing water, but amazing. A highlight of our trip!

Lovely river with walks!

Perfect place to have a walk with the dog...very accessible from the hotel and runs through to Cangis de Onis with what looked to be an easy track for walking longer distances.

It´s a beautiful clean river that flows down between mountains covered in green, It´s one of my favourite places in Asturias and should really keep it a secret :)

Perfect summer walk along the river
Jul 2016 • Couples
It is a flat walk, with just a few rocks to navigate along this beautiful river. Peaceful, easy to find, a short journey from Cangas de Onis and hugely worthwhile

An easy track
Aug 2015 • Couples
A very interesting and easy track. It takes about 50 min to follow the track (from the main road) till you reach a nice natural pool / small lake.

A nice walk, perhaps a bit overrated
Mar 2015 • Couples
A popular walk follows the river Dobra to a waterfall/swimming hole. It takes about 45 minutes each way. Parking can be quite difficult at busy times. The walk is pretty but no more than that and the pool while nice enough is nothing special. If you swim it is worth checking out the smaller pool above the waterfall.
