Time.....slows.....down.....just as you enter the Abbey. Well preserved. Well maintained. A place of reverence, serenity and history. Worth the visit, just to walk the grounds and enter into the courtyard and chapel.

This is a nice place to visit. Historically not to meaningful but peaceful and beautiful. It is a nice walk with great views of Lake Como. It is more spiritual and historical. There is a store where you can buy good made by the monks...More

We visited on a Sunday afternoon. The boat - only one service a day - gave us one hour there. The cloister was peaceful, and the church, and there is a grotto with some pilgrims. The souvenir shop has biscuits and another shop offers liqueurs....More

There are regular ferry boats, every hour as I recall, that serve a number of towns around the lake. Think of it as mini-cruise to see the lake rather than a shuttle.
