Take the boat trip into the canyon! I think I took about 200 pictures! Also try the local tamales the local sell on the streets. They are delicious!

The hole trip is very good. The feeling of the wind in the face... The view and fauna you see is incredible but be careful with the crocodiles. You might get a little wet and don't forget the sun block because it is open and the sun will burn you. Because of the speed your hat may fly away.

My visit to Sumidero Canyon was scheduled by a Mexican colleague eager to show us what Chiapas has to offer, so I had the added bonus of experiencing this with local friends who have great translation skills. If you read the lowest ranking reviews, you'll see comments about trash and number of boats, and yes, there was an area where... More

This beautiful canyon with plentiful wildlife should be on your list for places to see while visiting the area. Stop here, ride the boat, have a beer........ you will not regret it.

On our two-hour tour cruising down the river we spotted crocodiles and various birds. They pointed out beautiful caves and waterfalls. The canyon walls are absolutely enormous! I found it hilarious that they had a boat concession stand floating near the end of the river offering beer and cold drinks. Supply and demand! Too funny. ESLVentures.com

After eight days of touring Chiapas, the visit to Sumidero Canyon was "Icing on the cake". It was pretty amazing to take a boat through the canyon on the reservoir, for a 37 km ride one way. Seeing the Spider Monkeys in their habitat, large and small crocodiles, and numerous types of birds from raptors to fish stalkers, it was... More

We absolutely loved going on the 2 hour boat ride to see the splendor of the canyons. The guide stopped at several points where we saw crocs., monkeys, and various kinds of birds. I highly recommend putting this on your to do list!
