Lovely but watch out for the small sharp shells on barefeet!

A lovely beach but the small shells which are everywhere, can be sharp on bare feet. Lots of places to sit eg loungers and under umbrellas for some shade. There is a great family... read more

Skala beach was beautiful and you can hire sun beds through the hotels for around 6€ each. The beach itself is very stoney and harsh on the feet, so I would recommend wearing shoes on your walk along it. We also took a five minute cab ride from Skala beach to a neighbouring beach called Mounda which cost about 10€... More

A lovely beach but the small shells which are everywhere, can be sharp on bare feet. Lots of places to sit eg loungers and under umbrellas for some shade. There is a great family run water sports company offering lots of different options eg Kayaking, speed boats etc. You've got to try the inflatable sofa, so much fun.....hold on though!lots of... Beach was uncrowded and allowed for a relaxing couple of days. If you wanted to be active there are were a number of things to do, but I just wanted to chill.

Skala beach Kefalonia is ln our opinion probably one of the best in Kefalonia. it consists of good sand and small pebbles .Skala beach because of its size never gets overcrowded even in high season .It also has some nice beach Tavernas especially the Green paradise plus others .Also the sea is beautifully clean .All in all I should say... We came onto the beach during our day trip to Skala, and found there to be lots of room to sit on the sand close to the sea, you could hire sun loungers if you wanted too, with a beach Taverna serving drinks and snacks. the access to the sea was easy, with gently sloping shingle, and the water was clean and... You need to pick your spot for young children as you will need to find some sand away from the shingle and sharp grit, slopes away so you really have to watch youngsters as well. There are plenty of amenities near by with bars and places to eat handily placed. There are better beaches around.
